Overview
One Young World's flagship scholarship for outstanding young leaders from around the world to attend the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town. The programme particularly seeks leaders from countries that have historically been underrepresented at global forums and decision-making spaces.
What's on offer
Provides full delegate access to the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town, breakfast, lunch and dinner during the Summit, access to the One Young World Global Leadership Programme and Action Accelerator, and membership of the One Young World Ambassador Community. Transport and accommodation may also be provided, but this is determined on a case-by-case basis for each scholar. Visa fees and associated visa application costs are not covered.
Requirements
Applicants must be aged 18–35, demonstrate an evidenced commitment to delivering positive change, be addressing key local and/or global issues through their work, and have a track record of generating impactful and innovative ideas. Applicants under 18 at the time of the Summit cannot be accepted. Priority is given to candidates from countries that have been less represented at previous One Young World Summits and to first-time Summit attendees.
Ideal applicant
An outstanding young leader with demonstrated impact who is developing meaningful and innovative approaches to local or global challenges and helping build a more sustainable world. Particularly strong candidates come from countries historically underrepresented in global forums and have not previously attended a One Young World Summit.
