National Programme for Job-Generating Entrepreneurs

One Young World

Overview

A national entrepreneurship programme supporting young South African entrepreneurs whose businesses have significant potential to generate employment. Participants join the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town and receive mentorship, networking, accelerator support and access to a global community of young leaders.

What's on offer

A fully funded place at the One Young World Summit 2026 in Cape Town from 3–6 November 2026, including return travel to Cape Town, private hotel accommodation from 3–7 November and meals during the conference. Participants also receive mentorship from senior figures in the South African start-up ecosystem, access to a Demo Day and networking opportunities, participation in the One Young World Action Accelerator, and lifelong membership of the One Young World Ambassador Community.

Requirements

Applicants must be at least 18 years old and normally between 18 and 30; be both a national and resident of South Africa; lead a business or enterprise with potential for significant job creation; have direct decision-making authority within their organisation or company; and be available to participate in the One Young World Summit in Cape Town from 3–6 November 2026. Applicants over 30 may be considered where they demonstrate appropriate personal impact, initiative and willingness to engage.

Strong candidates demonstrate entrepreneurial initiative, measurable or credible potential for job creation, commitment to addressing youth unemployment and the potential to scale their enterprise.
